StopBigMedia.com FCC Endorses Junk News, Calls Fox’s TMZ, and 700 Club ‘Bona fide Newscasts’ Hard-hitting journalism is nearing extinction on television, and the Federal Communications Commission just threw another shovel-full of dirt on its grave when it recently ruled that Rupert Murdoch’s TMZ and Pat Robertson’s 700 Club meet the test for “a bona fide newscast.” Media companies get their broadcast licenses for free. In return, the FCC says that if a TV show is not a bona fide newscast …

I have tried so many times in the past 10 years to find an alternative to my high speed cable internet than my current Comcast provider. I have the cheapest plan possible. Cable tv comes along with my internet service. I opted for the smallest tv package available. Even so, I count at least 3fulltime christian religious nutso channels. Alternatives to Comcast will exist only when they are forced by law to exist.
If Comcast offered a cheaper internet with no cable tv, I would take it instantly.

Prior to his career as a televangelist, Pat Robertson worked for two years as financial analyst and management trainee at W.R. Grace Co., which employed émigré ***** after WWII. Robertson was also godfather of the child of company president J. Peter Grace, who was head of the Knights of Malta in the United States and a key figure in the CIA’s Operation Paperclip to remove classified information from dossiers on **** war criminals.

I hear ya mike… I get PBS with rabbit ears.

I refuse to pay for cable especially when I would be forced into subscribing to FOX NEWS with basic cable.

On top of that 1/2 of the channels on cable show paid programing all day & night!

I listen to Pacifica Radio a lot.

Most TV is an insult and assault on our minds. Pat Robertson is one of the biggest liars & false leaders going too. He should be tarred, feathered & sent into exile. He’s done more to confuse the non-thinkers & perpetuate war & killing than some dictators. He’s an American obscenity. The FCC has proven themselves to be in the censorship business and in bed with the corporate media and govt propaganda machine. Turn your TV off & watch YouTube :)

    Peace through truth.

Bingo! This is the reason we finally got rid of cable TV. I miss History Channel, etc. but overall, it’s a rip-off. Have ya ever watched something on TV & after it’s over, you think to yourself,”why did I just watch that?” Even the “real” news channels are nothing more than propaganda & spin. Maybe when they offer Al Jazeera or BlackListedNews(dot)com, I’ll pay for TV again. Most all western media is bs. I once thot that the BBC was better, but they’re just another UK version of CNN. Thx, zizizzi!

I don’t think so… I think many Americans are STARVING for REAL news.

I’m tired of being fed this bullshit news and infotainment and being told that that is what Americans WANT to see.

It’s like driving by a car accident… Sure I’ll turn my head and look, but that doesn’t mean that I get on the freeway hoping to see an accident.

I’m guessing Pat Robertson did not donate or campaign for Obama. Wait, I just lost my lunch (and supper)…*#^%*

Watch the movie, “Idiocracy”. It’s FCC decisions like this that will bring that reality upon us sooner than we think. BTW, great work on the video.

This is manufacture of consent. The dumbing down of Americans is in full swing. People who would rather watch TV than read are most susceptible to this bile – often the same people who are fooled into thinking junk food is “real” food. We absolutely must keep the corporations from taking over the Net, or we’ll never find out about anything.

crap news exists to hide the REAL news that the establishment doesn’t want you to see. also, sadly, many Americans would rather watch the crap news.

Good job on this video. The internet must continually hammer home the point that celebrity media is crap. Of course, you can get it on the web as well, but at least the web has a wide variety of content, much of it worthwhile. I sat down to watch a little cable TV the other evening. It was basically all crap, maybe a few mildly funny sitcoms here and there, some law and order stuff, but just mostly garbage.

    Hey,

The media is only playing what the people really want. For a long time now the media has told Americans how to think, act and feel. Americans have willingly complied.

This type of news will only increase in distribution until all “serious” news becomes nothing more that terrorist propaganda supported by the “progressive liberals” to undermine the US military in its five illegal wars of occupation.

90%+ of media is corporation owned, so even the “News” no longer qualifies. Until the 5 major players are stripped of their controlling what we read, hear, & see, bitching about these two is pointless.

    tragic.
